One of the best projects I did, which was in my mind to create for a very long time.

I loved the Dotonbori area in Osaka and if you've ever seen pictures of Osaka you probably have seen the famous restaurant with the giant crab on the front.

The Kani Doraku (かに道楽) is a chain of restaurants that have many locations throughout Japan, they even have three locations in the same street.

I wanted to combine elements from all three locations and some from building in the area to complement it, such as the building right in front of it, that I used as a base for the second floor, and the of photo of a giant crab in a Japanese house that I saw while looking for references would fit it perfect on top.

I started doing a sketch that I wasn't sure I liked it, so it sat in my sketchbook for over 2 months before I decided to give it another shoot, I rescaled it a bit and finally finished it.

This drawing also turned into a t-shirt!
